I have run, for exercise, close to 15 years now. I enjoy running. With this in mind, today I decided to do something I have always wanted to do on a professional level, and that is properly train to run a 5KM. I am very excited about it, especially as the 5KM is for children’s charity – Girls On The Run. It also helps that I can take my Son with me to the preparation workouts each week.

Traditional pediatric or a holistic pediatric, both works for us
Is there any other Pediatrician to go to if you live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn other than TriBeCa Pediatrics? If there is, I do not know about it, but considering they are only a few blocks from our apartment I cannot say that I’ve ever looked for another.
Tribeca Pediatrics has been at 212 Berry Street for about 4 years. They are also in the (New York City area) on the Upper East Side, Chelsea, Park Slope, Harlem, Greenpoint, Long Island City and of course TriBeCa where they originated 10 years ago.
Flying Squirrel on North 6th Street!
CHILDREN GROW SO FAST!
I am trying, my hardest, to sell some of Miles Storm’s equipment that he has grown out of and is now sitting around our apartment gathering dust – a gorgeous white Alma cot, a exersaucer and a Mamaroo! I’ve advertised on many websites to no avail. So when another Mother told me about Flying Squirrel as a great resource to sell “gently used” clothing/equipment I headed down to North 6th to check out the store.
So you want your baby/toddler to be a model…. This is how my Son became one.
I get a lot of questions from Mothers asking me how they can get their babies/toddlers into modeling like Miles Storm. My Son experienced his first day of work at 3 months modeling for “Babies R Us“. I thought I was special getting my first job at 16 years of age, but nope I am not as clever as him!
Farm to Baby – I Love Your Vibe.
I heard about Farm to Baby through my twitter feed – the Internet is a wonderful thing! I read a ReTweet saying that they were going to be at the Greenpoint / McCarren Park Greenmarket last weekend. I was excited, being a fit and health conscious Mum I knew I had to go and check out their vibe.
Revisiting Frolic Rock n Roll play space!
So happy to write that me and Miles Storm were able to revisit Frolic Play Space again for a second time today, and the experience was nothing short of perfect!
We were warmly greeted by co-founders Carey and Julia who started on their dream of opening a Children’s community-feel play space 2 years ago! That’s a long time waiting for the doors to finally open on January 9th just past. It is also so exciting for them, and for all the children in the “Willy B” area who are lucky enough to spend time Rocking out at their venue!
Open Play at “The Gym Park” – Gymnastics Inspired Play.
The Gym Park is another great find!
To think a few weeks ago I thought that there was nothing really for my Little One to do – boy was I wrong. There is so much to do in the Williamsburg Brooklyn area, I can barely keep up.
Head down to 8 Oak Street down in Greenpoint, on the East River, if you are ever stuck for an indoor activity, or you just want to let your Little One tire themselves out. There is plenty to do inside the Very Colorful 2,800 square foot facility including trampolines, swings, hula hoops, scarves, toys, balls, and lots of other children! Everything is Padded too, which is great. Miles fell over so many times running and jumping, and did not bat an eyelid, it was all part of the appeal for him.
Singalong at The Knitting Factory with Lloyd from The Deedle Deedle Dees!
Miles Storm LOVED Sing-a-long at The Knitting Factory – he was literally dancing on the table, which is quite a sight to see!
Sing-a-long is held at The Knitting Factory at 361 Metropolitan twice a week on Wednesday and Fridays at 11AM till around noon. The cost is $3 per family – Bargain! Lloyd Miller from The Deedle Deedle Dees a Brooklyn based educational rock band hosts the Sing-a-long on Wednesday only; on Friday it is somebody different. I have heard various opinions about which Sing-a-long is better, however as I have only been on a Wednesday I really cannot comment.
“Puppetsburg” at The Brick Theater!
Right off the bat, Puppetsburg WAS SO MUCH FUN. Miles Storm had a Ball. A Very Very Big Ball!
I heard about the Baby Puppetsburg show from another Mum in my building. I have had it on my list of things to investigate since I started this blog, and today Miles Storm and I finally made it over to East Williamsburg, to The Brick Theater located at 575 Metropolitan, to check it out. I feel like I am in East Williamsburg a lot these days. There is so much going on for Little Ones over there.
“Dancing Toddlers” at Williamsburg Movement & Arts Center.
Miles Storm has always loved to dance, and with this in mind I signed him up for a “Dancing Toddlers” trial class at the Williamsburg Movement and Arts Center #WMAC. The trial class was $10 which I booked it a week in advance. I find $10 to be extremely reasonable for 45 minutes, especially not knowing whether it is going to work out as planned? If one decides to sign up for the 10 week program it will be $170 total. Still quite reasonable for Williamsburg!!
