Update for Willy B Mum

At this time, I am taking a break from writing on Willy B Mum. I plan on starting back up again around January 2017, however I am still active on social media, especially Instagram – HERE.

The Good Dinosaur, and some clothing too

Little boys and dinosaurs seem to go hand in hand. My Son is obsessed with dinosaurs at the moment, he has dinosaur clothing, dinosaur books, and dinosaur toys. When I told him that we had been invited to a special screening of the movie – The Good Dinosaur – it was just the icing on the cake. What 5-year-old, doesn’t like a good Dino flick?

Winter is well and truly here in New York City, and with that inevitably comes colds and bouts of the flu. After a long chilly day not feeling so well, I know personally, I look forward to sleep like it is the greatest thing of all time. To be warm, safe and snuggly under my blankets feels so comforting.

My passion for meditation came way before motherhood, or even way before I knew what meditation was, or even before I knew I wanted to be a Mom. But that’s another story altogether.

When I became a Mom-to-be, it became so much more valuable (if that can be said about meditation), or maybe I should say it became more desperately urgent.

Just a morning workout session with Supermodel & Mum, Adriana Lima

This morning I woke up a little earlier than usual, as, rather than getting ready for my regular morning CKO kickboxing class which is close by here in Brooklyn, I was getting ready to head into Manhattan to workout with Supermodel (of Victoria’s Secret fame) and fellow Mother, Adriana Lima.

I was part of select group invited to experience Adriana’s fitness regimen and take part in a workout challenge, hosted by AMAZONIA Beverages, while also raising awareness for one of Adriana’s causes she holds close to her heart – St. Luke Foundation for Haiti. Founded in 2001, this Haitian non-profit organization provides essential education, medical care and humanitarian outreach to 150,000 locals a year, and employs around 900 locals to help with that feat. When I think of chutney (also known as relish), it reminds of growing up in Australia when I was a very little girl. My Father would make these ham sandwiches with chutney, mayonnaise, cheese and salad. Of course, that was a very long time ago as I have not eaten any meat in over 26 years now but the memory still remains.

Mamarazzi® “Mayim’s Vegan Table” Book Launch

I was thrilled when Willy B Mum recently gave me the opportunity to attend The Moms Mamarazzi® book launch for Mayim Bialik’s cookbook Mayim’s Vegan Table. I should start by admitting that I do not watch The Big Bang Theory, and was not allowed to watch television back when Blossom was on. But I have been a fan of Mayim’s ever since I picked up Beyond the Sling, her insightful book on attachment parenting, and when you add that to her veganism and her PhD in neuroscience, I didn’t need to be a fan of her acting to be totally starstruck when I met her.

One of my most supportive Twitter followers since I started Willy B Mum, 6 months ago, has been The Parent Maze, so today I am dedicating some time to give them the same vibe back.
