The annual Stokke blogger event which NYC-based, Momtrends host, is something that I have attended for the last 3 years. I am not so much a stroller reviewer, and surely I have never actually used a Stokke on a day-to-day basis. However, I do find the Scandinavian design to be innovative, unique and very appealing to a modern-day Mum living in New York City.

When I think of Trick-or-Treating and Halloween, what immediately comes to mind is copious amounts of lollies (Australian for candy) and comically scary creatures, with little kids walking around dressed as ghosts having fun. For me, it is a Holiday which I am not really experienced with as I was brought up in Australia where it was not a holiday recognized or celebrated. I mean, of course I saw it on the movies and on TV shows but that is as far as it really went.

A few weeks ago, here in New York City, I was invited to the Strong Moms Empower Summit and Luncheon. I have to admit, as I am invited to a lot of events, I really did not know what I was walking in to. I actually thought it was a casual get together with a few other local Mummy Bloggers. However, when I arrived at the gorgeous Alexandria Center overlooking the East River, I straight away knew otherwise. This was a really BIG deal. To start with the space was gorgeous and secondly there was a couple of hundred “movers and shakers” in the Mummy world on site.
Having your first child is a wonderful experience filled with Up and Downs. Highs filled with wonder and joy, and Lows where you are in frightening situations where you are at a loss and not sure what to do. One of the most frightening experiences personally is when Miles Storm is not physically 100% and we have to take him to the hospital ER. In the last 2.5 years this has happened say 6 times for a variety of reasons like high fevers, falls and vomiting. One fall even lead to him have a precautionary cat scan. Scary right?
You know, my 2.5 year old Son is really really into Super Heroes at the moment….. like really into Super Heroes. So, when I took him to an event with MomTrends last week at the NYC Chelsea Old Navy Store, he seriously could not believe his eyes when he saw Batman Pajamas hanging on the rack! It was love at first sight… seriously.
I can admit, I used to be a Bugaboo Snob! I would not even have thought about giving up my Cameleon Pram (Australian for Stroller), let alone consider a different kind of Pram! My husband knows first hand how stubborn I have been in this regard. As our Son is almost 2.5 years old, he has been unsuccessfully trying to convince me to switch to at least an Umbrella stroller, especially in the instances where we have to travel. But, I always insist on taking our Bugaboo with us everywhere. And, as much as I love it, it really is not the best pram to travel with, it is actually quite awkward and time-consuming to break down, store and set up.
Starting the New Year with a Blogging Bang, on the Winter Eve of January the 14th, I was picked up by a car service en route to Manhattan to the gorgeous space at the MPE Penthouse for another wonderful MomTrends event being a Party for Pantene Pro-V’s New Expert Collection.
The Night’s theme was all about hair, and I learned a lot about my trusses that I take everywhere with me! Did you know that your hair has an age? My hair is apparently 2 years younger than my real age, so I figure that is a good thing!
