Let’s get messy, and Like It!
If you are going to head over to Clay Play at Honey and Hazel Kids MAKE sure you wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty! And, that your Little One is dressed the same.
Honey and Hazel Kids is a quaint children’s lifestyle boutique located at 770 Metropolitan Avenue in East Williamsburg. They stock all kinds of cool products like Bibdanas and Beastie Babies – very Brooklyn!
Miles Storm and I headed over today for the 3PM class. Classes run for 45 minutes, and there is another class immediately after that starts at 4.15PM. Mondays are the only day this class is offered at this location. The cost is $11 if you drop in. However, if you pay online upfront it works out cheaper at $10 a class. The demographic for this activity is 6 month to 24 month babies/toddlers.
The class involves just playing with Clay; it is as simple as it sounds, but the benefits are a lot deeper than that! This is explained on the Clay Play site – “Playing with Clay builds fine motor skills, encourages social development and builds a creative community for babies as they grow. Natural and from the earth, clay is the perfect material for exploration!”
Anything connecting with the Earth is a Huge Plus in my Book!
The teacher Melisa Christensen is so lovely, attentive and informative. There is a great love of Clay and Children that went hand in hand with Melisa today, and I loved that. I really felt like she cared. I like her a lot! The owner of Honey and Hazel was equally welcoming! It was just a great vibe all around.
And, it is so reasonably priced!
I definitely recommend this activity to be added to your weekly calendar of events! Miles Storm had a great time and we will definitely be back next Monday.
